Many experts said that the Zero milestone is architectural space that has been built by many countries around the world, most of which are associated with community spaces in the capital. Therefore, the Zero milestone not only promotes the historical tradition, honors the place where the landmark is located, but also an interesting destination for tourists to take photos for their journey.
In 2009 and 2012, Assoc.Prof. PhD. Ha Dinh Duc proposed the building of the Zero milestone in Sword Lake area. In 2017, Hanoi City also mentioned this in a project to renovate ​​Sword Lake area. In 2018, Department of Survey, Mapping and Geographic Information - Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment issued a document confirming the need to build the Zero milestone of Hanoi, and at the same time agreed on the proposed location of the Zero milestone at Hang Khay - Dinh Tien Hoang intersection. However, for many reasons, so far this work has not been implemented.

Projected location to build Zero milestone in Hanoi

Architect Dao Ngoc Nghiem, Vice Chairman of Hanoi Urban Planning and Development Association, said that the Zero milestone is a remarkable project that Hanoi needs to be concerned about. When this project is located in the area of Sword Lake, it will enhance and affirm the position of the capital to the whole country.
Meanwhile, right after the Government offer the policy of promotion and development of domestic tourism, destinations and relics in Hanoi were simultaneously opened from May 14 after a long time of closing for prevention and control of the Covid-19, and at the same time, offer new products and services. Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Cultural and Scientific Activities Center has adjusted its plans and improved the quality of activities to welcome visitors. Other relics such as Hoa Lo Prison and Thang Long Imperial Citadel also introduces many new experiential activities after reopening. Tourism areas in the outskirts of Hanoi such as Bat Trang ceramics village, Van Phuc silk village, Duong Lam ancient village ... will promote smart tourism and enhance the connection between destinations.
The Hanoi Department of Tourism said that for attracting tourists, besides heritage tourism, the city will promote the development of tourism products for handicraft villages, eco-farms and farms. Many tourism companies in Hanoi have launched a series of promotion program with cheap domestic tours to encourage "Vietnamese people travel Vietnam".

Development of night-time economy

At the same time, the city should continue to focus on developing services, commerce and tourism, especially developing night-time economy towards improving the quality, efficiency and sustainability of the pedestrian space around Sword Lake area, Hang Dao, Hang Giay streets, Dong Xuan night market ...
