Beating many other famous cities of Tokyo, Japan or Rome, Italy ..., Hoi An, an ancient city in Quang Nam province, Vietnam has been name the world’s best city by the US travel magazine Travel + Leisure.

The "Top 15 Cities in the World" of the Travel + Leisure summarize voting results from these magazine readers, based on criteria including: landscape sights and landmarks, culture, cuisine, friendliness, shopping, and overall value.
Based on the results announced by the Travel + Leisure, Hoi An claimed the top position with a score of 90.39 out of the total 100, which was attributable to friendly local people, culture, heritage and food.
San Miguel de Allende - an oasis in the central highlands of Mexico - fell to second place after it topped the position for two consecutive years.
