Da Nang to offer free admission at cultural attractions in 2021

The destinations that are free to visit in 2021 include: Marble Mountains, Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts, Da Nang Museum and Museum of Cham Sculpture. The resolution to support  recovery of tourism industry in a new situation and to support tourism businesses to overcome the difficulties caused by second wave of Covid-19 Pandemic s has just been resolved by the City People's Council on this morning, December 9.
Previously, the City People's Committee submitted to the City People's Council a resolution approving free admission to Da Nang's sights and museums in the first 6 months of 2021, and 50% reduction of ticket to these destinations in last 6 months of the year.
However, through reviewing situation of the tourism industry, businesses will still face difficulties in the coming year due to the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic, the City People's Council has decided to offer free admission to the above destinations for the whole year 2021.
According to the government of Da Nang city, in May, free admission to Marble Mountains and cultural works, museums in the area of ​​Da Nang city with many solutions to promote tourism activities have brought prosperous results.
Domestic tourist in July 2020 increased by 2.8 times compared to May 2020 (from 245,000 turns to over 700,000).
However, just as it entered the peak season, at the end of July 2020, the epidemic began to break out for the second time, the city was forced to take measures to social distance, stop welcoming tourists that cause tourism and service businesses in the city to fall into a state of "cumulative difficulties" that make them tough to recover their activities.
It is forecasted that the recovery will last until the end of 2022 to reach growth rate of 2019, so it is necessary to have more solutions to restore tourism development, including solutions to stimulate tourism.
Therefore, the policy of free and reduction of tickets to visit tourist destinations is essential to support the recovery of the tourism industry in the new situation and support its businesses to overcome difficulties caused by the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Thereby, the policy contributes to "double goal" to ensure the prevention and fight against the pandemic and restore socio-economic growth development in Da Nang.
