15-inch Macbook Pro forbidden to carry on hand luggage, can it be carried in checked luggage?

After Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam announced banning to carry 15-inch Macbook Pro which are manufactured and sold (from September 2015 to February 2017) on board in any form, many passengers are doubt if their laptops are prohibited on board?

 Vietnam officially banned bringing Macbook Pro on board

Instructed by the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam to ban passengers and crews carrying 15-inch Macbook Pro which are manufactured and sold from September 2015 to February 2017 due to risk of hot batteries causing fire, immediately many passengers expressed concern about whether their laptops are banned to carry on board under this instruction.
Talking to Tuoi Tre Online, an airline representative said that, for this instruction from the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, passengers will not be allowed to bring their laptops which are manufactured and sold in above period in their hand luggage and checked luggage. When arriving at the airport, whether the laptops are banned to carry or not, security screening department will perform thorough inspection.
To avoid troubles, the airline's representative said that passengers should look up their laptop models to find if they are banned or not and present their specification if required.
Banning to carry 15-inch Macbook Pro on board, to check product accuracy, Apple announced a free battery replacement program for some 15-inch MacBook Pro models due to overheating battery problem and there cause a risk of fire.
The type of laptops on this banned list is MacBook Pro Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015. Then input serial number as required to notify whether the devices are required to recall. The passenger may visit https://support.apple.com/en-vn/15-inch-macbook-pro-battery-recall and follow its instructions to check.
If the laptops are not subject to a recall, the passenger may take screenshot of the test results by Apple, along with their serial number as prove during security screening.
In Vietnam, Department of Competition and Consumer Protection under Ministry of Industry and Trade also received a report from Apple Inc. on "Voluntary recall and replacement of batteries in a limited number of Apple 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops".
Users are strongly advised to quickly test their 15-inch MacBook Pro laptop. In the event that their laptops are under the recall, users should discontinue use and contact an Apple authorized service center for assistance.
This is the first time the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam banned a computer product line. Before that, only phones or some electronic devices were banned.
